I was going through some past wedding today and came across this cute photo I took a couple of years ago and thought I would repost it. This is one of the junior groomsmen from Jenny and Andrews wedding. As a Knoxville wedding photographer one of the best things is to catch a photo that is a timeless reminder of one’s special day. I think this young man will remember this day forever. How distinguished he looks. The other groomsmen didn’t cary a close second to this guy. And check out that hairdo.

Saturday was a beautiful day to shoot. I met Darla, her mom and bride’s mail Mary for a shoot near her mom’s work. We went to Garden Monis0rry School for a very nice shoot. The stone there I am told, is from the Smoky Mountains before they became a park some time ago. After the garden shoot we headed down to Gay St. downtown Knoxville for more than a little fun. The Dogwood Arts Festival was in full swing, and hey, as a Knoxville wedding photographerI couldn’t Keep Darla from trying to get into trouble.

Last Friday the road trip continued for my brother and I, the Knoxville wedding photographer,to Pinehurst, N.C., home to one of the finest and most prestigious gold and country clubs in the country. The event. Dana and her brides maids decided to challenge her mom and mother in law to be to a game that none happened to be familiar, croquet. Not the, $29.95 set you got when you were a kid version. Nope, this was an official croquet court where international matches are held. Dana decided it would be a good opener to bring her brides maids in with her mom and new mother in law. With the wedding scheduled for the next day, what is better than a day with just the girls to catch a little sun; compete in a casual sport; have a little fun and eat some great food……and ohhh the deserts!!!

What is it about drinking your own coffee, out of your favorite mug, in your own chair that just sets you right for the day. After a long trip via Greensboro-New York-Las Vegas-Houston-Greensboro-Greenville and then home. It is sooooo good to get back and get back to work. I met a ton of great people in Las Vegas. Everyone was so eager to help and loved their craft. These are some pics from the trip.

While at WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) Knoxville wedding photographer David Payne (me) had the distinct honor of being asked to display some of my work by one of the International vendors. I think everyone has seen this image on my web page.

This week I am in Vegas with my brother Logan for the WPPI convention. What is WPPI? Ask any wedding photog and they will tell you it is the annual meeting of the top wedding photographers in the world. I thought I might have a little fun with the phone, and blog some low quality pics from my phone of the trip.

Rainy day at Cades Cove, Tn.

Cades Cove is a wildlife refuge located near Townsend, Tn. in the edge of the Smoky mountains. The day was rainy and the wildlife was feeding, deer, turkey and Floridians.

The trees are just starting to change color.

Wild turkeys…a little close to Thanksgiving!

If you look close you can see the horns on that buck looking at the on lookers.

Trip to Greensboro, NC to see my Brother Logan

This week I decided to go to Greensboro, NC to visit my brother, his wife Christie and two year old son Asher. Logan is a wedding photographer in Greensboro and I thought the trip would be a good chance to compare notes, catch up, and see Asher for the first time.

We had a lot of fun fighting the gas lines from the hurricane.

We enjoyed dinner together at Moe’s. “WELCOME TO MOE’S!!!”

Then it was on to the Greensboro Fair…..

Asher was beat……we all were a little tired too… Good Fun.

The next day it was time to get the cameras ready, and head to the wedding.
